Charlotte Church`s ex discusses split
Charlotte Church`s former fiance says their split is "just the way it goes".
The singer recently announced she had parted ways with rugby player Gavin Henson after a five-year romance, and just weeks after they got engaged. The pair have vowed to keep their relationship amicable for the sake of their kids Ruby, two, and 17-month-old Dexter.
Although Charlotte`s representative has confirmed the break-up, she has not commented on it. Gavin is also wary about discussing his private life, but has a philosophical outlook about it. "That`s just the way it goes, isn`t it? That`s life. But I`d rather not comment about my personal life," he told Closer magazine.
After news of the split became public, Gavin went on holiday to escape the limelight. He resurfaced at a party last week to celebrate the start of tennis tournament Wimbledon,explaining he is keen to get on with his life.
"I`m having such an awesome time at the moment," he said. "I like going out to parties and enjoying myself - I`m only young."
Despite his love of the high life, Gavin says fatherhood has changed him. He enjoys spending time with his kids, insisting they have totally changed his outlook on life.
He calls his children his "focus", explaining he would do anything for them. "I think they look more like me, and they`re just brilliant," he said."Ruby has me wrapped around her little finger, she really has. I`ma little bit tougher on Dexter - trying to bring him up well, you know. He`s a proper boy."
